The PAX Ohio Initiative proposes to offer up to 25 PAX Professional Development Trainings (4thEd. Update or Next Steps Trainings only). Existing PAX GBG sites who wish to offer these Professional Development opportunities to their PAX Teachers can request to host one or both of these trainings in their communities.
PAX Professional Development
PAX Professional Development training provides teachers who were previously trained in PAX GBG with expanded skills for improved outcomes. These include:
- PAX 4th Edition Update: One-day, live on-site, in-person training for up to 40 participants trained in PAX GBG before August, 2016 (3rd Edition). Includes expanded strategies for creating nurturing environments in the classroom and teaching self-regulation.
- PAX Next Steps: One-day, live on-site, in-person training for up to 40 participants trained in PAX GBG after August, 2016 (4th Edition). Includes strategies for using PAX GBG with tiered intervention, instances of trauma, and frameworks for expanding throughout the school.
PAX Heroes Teacher Certification:
(For Previously Trained PAX Teachers Only)
This training provides PAX teachers with additional strategies to scaffold Universal Intervention (Tier 1) PAX Kernels and Cues for children who continue to struggle to be successful in the classroom, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 enhancements for children who exhibit challenging behaviors and under-developed self-regulation skills. (6-Hour Training)
PAX Heroes Partner Certification:

PAX Partners certified in PAX Heroes will develop skills for collaborating with teachers and school staff to develop Tiered Strategies using PAX GBG for children who continue to struggle to be successful in the classroom. (2-Day Training)
